Kashmiri Dhaba on NH1 – Food Review

If you are traveling to Srinagar from Jammu by road, just 10-20 kms before the Chenani-Nashri Tunnel, there is a place with a cluster of muslim dhabas, to your left. The landmark is the ‘Jamia Masjid’. If you are traveling from Jammu towards Srinagar, you will find this dhabas on your left. The very first on the left is the one. Stop there for a refreshing cup on ‘Koshur Nun Cha’ (Kashmiri Salty Pink Tea). It is highly digestive and works wonder if you are already feeling drowsy or acidic. They generally serve you nun cha along with a deep fried roti made from corn flour and on each table you will find delicious roasted ‘Sattu’. Add a tablespoon full of roasted Sattu to your tea and enhance the flavour. Another great thing is, you pay them 50/- rupees and they will top wash your car. I highly recommend you to try this on your next visit. If you visit this place, let us know about your experience.
